Quilts

I make no claims as a quilter but on a few occasions- unfortunately all involving life struggles- I have made them for charity and fundraising purposes.

Made at the request of Firefighters at Station 7 to give to a young girl undergoing spinal surgery. The dog in the firetruck is one of the department’s Search and Rescue dogs. Fabrics, chosen for tactile purposes, include silk, polyester satin, grosgrain ribbons, ultrasuede, lame’ and synthetic leather.

Made as donation from Station 7 to auction for benefit of a member of Station 4 whose wife died in childbirth. There are hand-quilted designs in the black regions at the corners and an echo pattern quilted around the stenciled and quilted phoenix. Dog approved.

Made to raise money for an injured member of Station 7. Hand-quilted designs in the red and blue starred squares around perimeter. Station logo, “Ready to Roll” Hand quilted under reverse-applique 7.
